On January 1st, 2024, EasternEdge Credit Union, Atlantic Edge Credit Union and Hamilton Sound Credit Union merged to form the new Atlantic Edge Credit Union.

Members can expect the same excellent service they’re used to, now delivered across our expanded network of 15 branch locations.

As we navigate this merger, you will continue to see references to your former credit union when you visit your branch, use online or mobile banking, and view your statements. We will advise members regularly of any changes to your services or account information as the integration progresses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to do anything different after January 1? Expand/Collapse

On January 1 it will be business as usual for all members. Our priority is to minimize member change and disruption. As integration progresses, we will advise members regularly of any upcoming changes.

Are there changes to online or mobile banking? Expand/Collapse

There are no immediate changes to online and mobile banking. Members continue to login to online or mobile banking using your existing links and banking information. As we harmonize our banking system to serve members better, we expect to offer new services and will be keeping members informed of any changes that affect them.

Can I do my banking transactions at any branch location? Expand/Collapse

Yes, we are pleased to welcome and serve members at any of our 15 branch locations.

While all our credit union branches operate from the same banking system, we are taking extra steps so staff can access account information and serve all members’ banking needs.

Will my account number change? Expand/Collapse

Over the next few months there will be no changes to account numbers or access to services. A key integration activity will be to harmonize our banking systems. We will advise members regularly of any changes to services or account information.

Does my debit card change? Expand/Collapse

Existing debit cards will continue to work as usual. For EasternEdge and Hamilton Sound members, the Atlantic Edge Credit Union name will eventually be reflected in your bank statements and in your card design when they are reissued.

Will there be any changes to my credit card? Expand/Collapse

Existing Collabria credit cards held by members will continue to work as usual. EasternEdge and Hamilton Sound members will be added to Atlantic Edge’s services and new cards. This means you will eventually have a new card issued to you. We will keep you regularly informed of any changes that affect you.

Will my cheques change? Expand/Collapse

All members will continue to use their existing cheques as normal. For EasternEdge and Hamilton Sound members, the merger and new Atlantic Edge Credit Union name will have no impact on any of your regular transaction items such as direct deposits, automated bill payments, or outstanding cheques.

Will rates on my deposits and loans change? Expand/Collapse

For members with deposits and loans that are locked-in for fixed terms, there are no changes. As part of our integration, we are aligning rates, so all members will benefit from our competitive savings and lending products regardless of which branch location you choose to visit.

Will there be any changes to account packages and service fees? Expand/Collapse

We are aligning our chequing and savings account packages, adopting the packages currently available to Atlantic Edge members. These changes bring value-added benefits to EasternEdge and Hamilton Sound members providing additional package options that include more features and benefits for lower fees.

Will there be any changes in staff at my branch? Expand/Collapse

There are no changes to branch staff because of this merger. This means you’ll continue to see the same staff you’re used to dealing with at your branch.

Will my branch close? Will the service hours change? Expand/Collapse

We are pleased to serve members from all branch locations. As we integrate our services, we expect there could be minor changes to branch service hours.

How does this merger benefit members? Expand/Collapse

You’ll continue to receive the same personalized service from the staff you know at your local branch. Many EasternEdge and Hamilton Sound members will immediately benefit from adopting Atlantic Edge’s chequing and savings account packages which offer more transactions for a lower monthly fee.

Over time, you will have access to new and enhanced products and services. We will plan the merger to make the transition as smooth as possible for our members, and you will be kept informed throughout the process.
