Is it Safe?

With Interac e-Transfer®, your money never actually travels by email. Autodeposit and Request Money for Interac

Interac has implemented two new features to the e-Transfer® service: Autodeposit and Request Money.

Autodeposit Feature

Autodeposit is a feature within the Interac e-Transfer® service where you can register your email address(es) to have funds deposited directly into your account, without having to answer a security question. The sender is made aware before initiating a transfer that the recipient is registered for Autodeposit.

Request Money Feature

Request Money is a feature within the Interac e-Transfer® service where money can be requested from anyone in Canada within the security of your online banking or mobile banking application. Money can be requested using email or text messaging. When your request is fulfilled, you will receive notification once the funds are available in your account.

Important: In order to have these new features on your device, you must upgrade your apps.

  • Members can use Interac e-Transfer to send up to $3,000 per transaction, $10,000 per week and $20,000 per month to other people.
